Modules overview

Modules extend a main water body from the unified Inspector. Select the water root, use Add Module, and choose the feature needed for that body. A module remains owned and configured by its water body; it does not replace the main water component.

Module Use it when you need…
Water Current Global or zoned directional flow for characters, Rigidbodies, marked transforms, buoyancy, or custom sampling.
Exclusion Areas One or more dry shapes cut out of an otherwise active water body.
Random Ripples Procedurally spawned rain-like or ambient surface impacts.
Floating Debris Many lightweight decorative pieces distributed across configurable zones.
Floating Props Individually placed surface decorations with per-item appearance and behavior.
Light Rays Layered underwater shafts with configurable placement, appearance, and animation.

The common workflow is:

  1. Select the main water root.
  2. Choose the feature from Add Module.
  3. Configure the module in the water Inspector.
  4. When the module contains zones, layers, or individual items, add an entry and select it before editing its dedicated controls or Scene handles.
  5. Disable the module temporarily to compare the result without deleting its settings.

Each Add Module feature has its own chapter below and its own link in the Water modules sidebar group. Simple Water 2D and Sprite Reflection are separate components, so they are documented under Standalone visual tools instead.
